Whether you're traveling in another country, exploring your city, having coffee with friends, hiking, walking in the park or shopping- these are all times when you're bound to get hungry or thirsty and be tempted to buy on the go.

If you're looking to cut down on your waste, you're going to need a few handy tools and you'll need to get into the habit of thinking ahead. I don't go anywhere without my trusty back pack and a few essentials. Depending on the day out, I'll usually include a bamboo or metal straw, bamboo spork, water bottle, reusable mug, reusable bag and lunchbox. Two minutes of prep for a day of little to no waste.

There are a few ways to avoid waste without needing tools to help. For zero waste snacks on the go, you can always buy fruit unpackaged from a supermarket, an ice cream cone or a pastry in hand. Alternatively, slow down and spend 15 minutes eating or drinking in!
